A Knitterly Tour of the Greater Bay Area

As part of a whole other project, I wound up compiling a selected list of yarn/fiber shops in the San Francisco Bay Area (to include San Francisco, the counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, San Mateo, Santa Clara and Monterey).

I do not have any entries for the north bay counties (e.g., Marin, Solano, Sonoma, Napa, etc.). If you have any recommendations, I'd be delighted to include them.

In the meantime, HERE is the first draft of something I hope to continue updating. Enjoy, and happy shopping!

Neat idea!

How's your mom doing? Sending hugs to you and her both. :-)

Did you change the background of your layout? Or are my eyes playing tricks on me? Maybe it's me. LOL

In the North Bay, there's Marin Fiber Arts, Dharma Trading (both in San Rafael) and Knitterlyn in Petaluma. All worth going to.

Thanks for the plug or Nine Rubies on Ravelry :-).

Cool idea! There's a second Atelier in San Anselmo (nicer than the one in the City, I think), Yarns On First in Napa (pretty friendly store), and Muse in St. Helena (I've walked by, but it's always been closed when I've been there.)

Muse in St. Helena is wonderful. Great selection, good prices and friendly staff. Bella Yarns in Sonoma is pretty, but kinda spendy. I really like Marin Fiber Arts as well.

How lovely of you to compile a list!
